Classes have spent the week learning about Veteran's Day through various projects and activities.
On Wednesday, October 19th the kindergarten students went on a field trip to Tom's Farm Market in Huntley. They got to experience the life cycle of a pumpkin first hand, see farm animals, and how produce is washed and stored before coming to the markets for us to eat. It was a great day!!!
The members of H.O.P.E. (Helping Others in Physical Education) travel to Seth Whitman regularly to help the younger students.
Our students will be attending a Superhero Science Assembly on September 30th. The goal of this assembly is to excite the students and get them "STEAMED up about science". The presenter will be performing a variety of experiments and teaching students about the scientific method. This will be a great way to kick off inquiry based learning aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards. Stay tuned for pictures from the event!
We are very excited to announce that we have dedicated the "pod" space in grades 1-5 to inquiry based project learning. All Seth Whitman students will be receiving science and social studies instruction. Teachers will be delivering lessons using an intriguing hands on approach.
