BELVIDERE - Belvidere High School Assistant Principal, James (Jim) Friesema was recently named Assistant Principal of the Year for the Kishwaukee region by the Illinois Principals Association. The Kishwaukee region contains schools from Boone, DeKalb, Kane, McHenry and Winnebago counties. Jim is now in the running for Assistant Principal of the Year for the entire state of Illinois.
Jim has been employed in District 100 for 8 years with 6 of those years spent at Belvidere High School. For the first 3 years at BHS, he started as a counselor before transistioning into his role as Assistant Principal. Jim says he's excited about the direction the district is going because he believes it's what's best for the students.
