The PTO participated in a fundraiser with the Rockford Ice Hogs that culminated into an exciting double over time win for the Rockford Ice Hogs on Saturday, November 19th. Third through fifth grade students who attended the game were invited to perform the National Anthem.
Students who sold tickets for the event will each receive prizes based upon the number of tickets they sold. Each student who sold at least one ticket earned a one-day pass to Magic Waters for the 2017 season. Several students also sold enough tickets to earn an Ice Hogs pencil and ruler set and an Ice Hogs hat.
The top six sellers were invited to stand in the tunnel and high-five the players as they entered the ice rink for the second period of play. These lucky students were Bradan Diskin, Gage Behnke, Brodie Medrano, Joslyn Cnota, Keegan Lund and Paul Schmidt. Bradan, who was the top ticket seller, was also recognized on the video board throughout the evening.
Mrs. Hansen's Third Grade Class sold the most tickets and earned a pizza party and a visit by an Ice Hogs player and/or Hammie to be set at a later date.
The PTO was able to raise just over $950 through this fundraiser. This money will help fund future activities. Go Ice Hogs and Meehan Mustangs!
