Congratulations to the South Middle School Lego League team who qualified yesterday for the state competition which will be held in January.
Coached by Mr. Larson and other volunteer coaches, FIRST LEGO League is an international competition with a common challenge. For this year's challenge, students were to: identify a problem when people and animals interact; design a solution that makes the interaction better for animals, people, or both; and share their problem and solution with others. Students were also tasked to design, build, and program a robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS technology, then compete on a table-top playing field.
Our team took first place for their project at yesterday's competition for their plan to help the endangered Karner blue butterfly.
Great job team and good luck at the State Competition!
